That study has now been retracted by the journal Anticancer Research \u2014 meaning the journal pulled the paper because its problems could not be fixed with a correction.<\/p>\n<p>Here is why that 84.4% number was misleading: patients whose cancer simply stayed about the same were counted as successes, many patients were also receiving normal cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery, results were self-reported online with no independent check mentioned, doses were not standardized, and only 122 of the original 197 people finished the six-month follow-up. All of the authors were also affiliated with or paid by The Wellness Company, which sells the very protocols promoted in the paper.<\/p>\n<p>Most important for pet owners: this was a human study, not a pet study. It does not prove ivermectin treats cancer in people, let alone in dogs or cats. Do not delay proven veterinary care to try an unproven drug combination.
